A rude, almost unfriendly service - the boss herself? The Corona menu is (?) Very clear, the prices typical for a tourist hotspot. The placemats (because of Corona) partly still sticky from the previous one. The food, however, was plentiful and tasty. The trappings bothered us ...
We are absolutely thrilled because we didn't know the restaurant yet. The food was served warm and also tasted hearty like grandma's. The ambience fits the concept. We will be back
Very nice experience, food was tasty and reasonable, staff was friendly, location in the old cellars was very cool. I would personally have liked to read about the history of the place on the menu, but you can’t have everything.
Good haxen and dumpling, ok schnitzel (just schnitzel is not my favorite and not what I chose) Dessert ice cream good but nothing special Can be recommended, if you like us appreciate a little robust German food Hearty portions and good beer of course
My husband and I have eaten here twice and are always satisfied. Today we had visitors and went to eat here again. It took a good 20 minutes until we finally got the menus from the next table upon request. Then we placed our orders and waited. Ok, the place was full today, it could take a while for our food to arrive. We could have lived with it that far. But after 1 hour of waiting the waitress came back to our table, she forgot to take our orders in the kitchen. At some point our food came, it was delicious again! Then it was time to pay. We would have got € 6 back, because there was no more tips. But the waitress gave us back less than 6 €, which she only understood after 3 times. Despite the delicious food, we will probably not come back.
Hallelujah, that was good. Plaice Müllerin Art with fried potatoes and cucumber salad. That was good. The fish with a little bucket was very tasty. The cucumber salad is a poem !!! So tasty, the service was very attentive. A nice Friday evening.
Great ambience. Old cellar vault. Very quaint. Good price-performance ratio. I would have only wished for some special potato dishes on the menu. Nice service, but m. E. a bit overloaded. A visit to the potato cellar is still worthwhile.
We sat outside in sunny weather. Very quiet and attractive area. The waiter was solely responsible for many tables, but managed it well, friendly and hard-working. No long waiting times and still a friendly word and an attentive look. The food (Hamburger Schnitzel) was also really tasty.
Very great restaurant with a rustic ambience! Good middle-class food at a fair price!
+++ Super nice location, you can sit outside and although it is very central, it is still very quiet. - - When I sat down at a free table, the waiter told me in a relatively unfriendly way that it was not yet disinfected. I can understand that you are annoyed by the corona conditions, but without a notice that you will be seated, no guest can know which table is clean and which is not. So please: set up a visible placement notice then compliance with the rules will also work better!
The food was by far the best I've eaten up here. Lübeck pann fish. The fish was juicy and cooked to the point. Despite the stress, the service was cool and nice. The prices are absolutely okay for what is on offer! I will gladly come again.
It is a beautiful historical beautiful cellar. The waiters are very nice and always run around diligently ... until you can order or drink or the food comes, it took about 1.5 hours. But the food was just OK ...
Especially worthy of a local moral meal. The pork knuckle is delicious, the skin is crispy, and the meat is delicious. Their potato books are waxy and milky, so delicious!
Sat outside. The food was good and plentiful. The staff was nice and friendly. Nothing special outside though. The toilets are neat and clean.
I can only report positive things. I went to eat there with my boyfriend twice on vacation and both times the food tasted great, short waiting times and very friendly service. We got a place spontaneously. The location and the ambience is nice, the food is typically German but very tasty that's why we came back again at the end of our vacation. I cannot confirm the partly negative reviews regarding the taste or friendliness (of course that is always subjective). I would keep coming back :)
This place offers a smug atmosphere in a vaulted cellar which is also nicely decorated with a great eye to details, the aptly named "potato cellar" luckily posits more than just potatos, though potato is the base of probably most dishes. The food was also great.
The place is of course very beautiful. The service is very friendly. The food is not bad, but - especially considering the price - just below average
Very tasty food in a great ambience and super friendly staff. Highly recommended 🤩
Came here spontaneously and got a place. Unfortunately the food took ages. It was very tasty but the waiting time unfortunately depressed the overall impression. The prices are reasonable.
Large restaurant, big basement with wooden benches style seating. Very nice and atmospheric Terrasse. The Menu is specialized in German food, quality is good but not extraordinary ( I had a schnitzel which was fine, my partner had a fish dish he enjoyed). I found it a little pricey for food but cheap for bottled wine. Very nice service.
What can be wrong about a place specialised in potatoes and fish? A great place to stop by after after a morning at the European Hanseatic Museum. Pro tip: sit inside, it's captivating!
Amazing!!
Very cozy place, good service, English speaker. Nice for trying German traditional food together with beers.
Cozy and quite a lot of food. Took their entrees 2 pcs had them. Good.
Food was good, staff was friendly but at the end of their service on saturday evening (9 oclock) not very much interested anymore. The soup and salad where just good, not to be overrated but with potatoes as mentioned in the name of the place.
Nice ambiente, friendly service, food was really nice
Visited Lubeck back in 2007. We wanted a traditional local fare and this place delivered. Sausage, potatoes, cabbage and beer. All great.
Lovely evening, great food and atmosphere. Very friendly, English speaking staff. Would definitely go back!
Very cozy and traditional! Vintage ambience.
Vienna schnitzel and kale & Kassler was yummy.
Excellent place!
Super.
It looks like a tourist trap and it may be so. But...everything is tasty and meat is of good quality. Cabbage dishws is well cooked.bif you are not in for German cuisine this is not your place but although I am not a fan of this meaty and hearty type of cuisine I could enjoy it.
A really charming interior, reminds me of medieval restaurants I’ve been to in different parts of the world. Food is decent, a bit “heavy” but that’s normal for German food, I suppose.
Just went for a quick coffee, everything was empty but the waiter was not friedly anymore when I asked just for a coffee.
Very unfriendly man yelled at us that all the tables were full.
cool building, decent food.
Good German food in historic sorroundings
If you like potatoes you’ll really like this place. Potatoes in various guises are the specialty of the house. We tried the crispy salmon with a type of creamed potatoes. Good. And the cold roast beef with potatoes fried with onions and bacon. Good. Very tender beef too. Nice atmosphere and good service. At lunch you can enjoy the outdoor seating, but that area is closed at night. Indoors is fine and what I thought were pig dolls are really potatoes made to look like pigs or other characters.
Authentic and cosy place in an old basement. Large portions of good food. Terrific beer.
Good food in a truly great location. Selection of food could maybe be a little wider, the vegetables in particular. But will a really nice evening
Cost place. Nice food
Well, the basement under the Holy Spirit Hospital is well worth seeing and worth a visit. Food is normal average and the staff could be a bit more attentive. It's better to just enjoy a beer outside.
Folkloristic place where potatoes rule (together Smith German classics) in Lubbeck
Excellent traditional potato menu with good service
It nice bell music in every hour
Fantastic unique, historic eating place with great food
Charming restaurant with a spectacular menu of dishes and wines. Big dishes. Good and fast service with educated and correct waiters. Ideal to go alone or in groups. Creative decoration The entrance with staircase descent but without access to wheelchairs.
Very nice
Potato Celler,, probably would have had more fun before it turned into a beer bar, Great beer, but miserable unfriendly staff were only interested in pushing the food menu,, shame really cos it was a beautiful building,, left after one drink,,
